Authentic box sash windows & specialist wooden staircases in Ipswich
As one of Suffolk’s leading specialists in bespoke joinery, at Suffolk Joinery, we’ve proudly served many homeowners throughout Ipswich with hand-crafted joinery made to exacting specifications. Our county town is brimming with characterful period properties from Tudor and Georgian to Victorian and Edwardian and we thoroughly enjoy the challenge of utilising our traditional joinery techniques and authentic materials to add value to your everyday lives and the properties themselves.
Our highly-skilled craftsmen work only with the finest calibre of timber to create box sash windows and maintain the authenticity of your home’s period aesthetics. We hand-craft every single frame to carefully replicate the mouldings of traditional sash windows, covering everything from the meeting rails to the glazing bars. As unashamed perfectionists, the finishing touches mean everything to us. Our huge range of brass, copper and contemporary chrome fittings are the perfect complement to any new set of box sash windows fitted in the Ipswich area.
The team’s technical expertise also enable us to offer made-to-order wooden staircases, ranging from classic and functional straight staircases to ornate spiral staircases with the added ‘wow factor’. Whether you’re an Ipswich-based self-builder, contractor or homeowner seeking to design or redesign the layout of your property, we can work with you to create a suitable design that becomes an integral feature of your family home.
Whether you’re in the process of planning a new-build property that’s designed with traditional styles in mind, or you wish to change the layout of an existing period home, our specialist staircases are guaranteed to transform living spaces using hand-produced pine, mahogany or oak. One of our most recent projects in Bury St Edmunds was at Cupola House. This spectacular building was badly damaged after a fire in 2012 and our skilled craftsmen were involved in the hand-crafting and installation of the property’s stunning new English Oak staircase, complete with intricate hand carvings and turnings.
How we work
None of what we do is mass-produced in any way. The very nature of our work means we’re required to work closely with homeowners in the Ipswich area to design and hand-craft joinery that’s entirely fit for purpose in your unique space. The team is headed up by Marcus Church – boasting many years of joinery experience – who will discuss and consult with you every step of the way.
Using 3D realisation software, we can demonstrate to you exactly how your new bespoke joinery will appear in your property before we’ve even lifted a finger in the workshop. Rest assured, once the design and quotation has all been agreed, we will undertake our work to the best of our abilities using only the finest materials available. Throughout the project, we welcome our customers to venture to our workshop to monitor our progress.
